MTO Driver’s Handbook: Getting Your Driver’s Licence, Driver's Licence Classification Chart
The class letter on an Ontario licence says which vehicles you may drive. Class G is the ordinary car licence: a car, a van or a small truck, or a combination of vehicle and towed vehicle up to 11,000 kilograms, provided the towed vehicle is not over 4,600 kilograms. A pickup truck towing a house trailer counts as a Class G vehicle even though the trailer is over 4,600 kilograms, as long as the total combined weight of the truck and trailer is not over 11,000 kilograms.
