Aggressive driving and road rage
MTO Driver’s Handbook: Safe and Responsible Driving, Aggressive driving and road rage
Aggressive driving such as tailgating, speeding, failing to yield the right-of-way or cutting in front of someone too closely can frustrate other drivers and lead to a road-rage conflict, and an angry driver may take dangerous retaliatory action.
Avoid becoming angry on the road:
- know the warning signs of stress and deal with them by getting fresh air, breathing deeply and slowly and listening to relaxing music
- make a conscious decision not to bring your problems with you when you drive
